Fastest was Thomas Wilson who set a race PB of 19 minutes 44 seconds when finishing in 31st place out of a record 491 finishers followed by 100th Stephen Wilson - 22:35, 131st Peter Dow – 23:20 (race PB), 144th John Molloy – 23:40, 162nd Jennifer Duru – 24:01 (race PB), 211st Emma Wilson – 25:08 (race PB), 241st Tariq Abdullah – 26:09 and 320th Caroline Dow – 28:51
Meanwhile in the Strathclyde parkrun on the same day, Jill O’Neil came in 18th out of 203 runners in 20 minutes 46 seconds, Emma Blair set a race PB of 21 minutes 35 seconds in 26th place and Heather McKillop who also had a race PB finished 143rd in 28:52.

Hide AdTwo Garscube girls were selected for the Under-17 Girls Inter-District cross country race at Holyrood Park, Edinburgh on Saturday, January 5.
Catriona Graves ran very well to win the race in a time of 15 minutes 27 seconds and Georgia Callander came in 19th in 17 minutes 59 seconds.
In the parkruns on the same day the Garscube results were: Glasgow: 112th John Molloy – 23:39, 121st Peter Dow – 23:47, 243rd Caroline Dow – 28:52, 286th Andrew Bell – 31:00, 366th Derek Buchanan – 46:39.
Strathclyde: 16th Scott McPherson – 20:15, 30th Kieran McLaughlin – 21:26, 128th Heather McKillop – 29:19. 177 finished.

Hide AdYoung Garscube athlete Alastair Stanley finished in 4th place in a time of 9 minutes 25.25 seconds in Race No 1 of the 3000 metres at the Glasgow Athletic Association Miler Meet in the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, January 3.
Finally, on New Year’s Day in the Glasgow parkrun Tariq Abdullah came in 101st out of 164 runners in 27:37 and Stuart Irvine finished in 104th place in 27:52 while in the Strathclyde parkrun Stephen Wilson set a PB of 22:38 when finishing in 19th place.
