Gents victorious in penultimate game
The teams settled quickly and after five ends Cumbernauld led by 29-24. From then onwards Cumbernauld took control of the game and as a result, led 54-41 after ten ends to be increased to 70-59 after 15 ends.
Cumbernauld continued to impress with their overall play. After 18 ends the home side led by 86-62. Continuing to dictate the play and, with the visitors unable to make any impression on the score, ran out comfortable winners. Cumbernauld's final game against league champions Portobello away at the end of the month should provide on Saturday's performance, an interesting encounter.

The seniors for their Scottish league game against a strong Paisley side at the stadium on Saturday, lost by 83 shots-39. The visitors settled quickly and in a keenly contested opening five ends, led by 15-10. However, from that point Cumbernauld lost their concentration and in the next 20 ends lost 30 shots-10 to trail by 50-10 after ten ends.
Paisley took control of the game, and playing with confidence, continued to impress with their overall play and led 77-33 after 15 ends. Paisley can be well pleased with the performance of their play and thoroughly deserved their win.

Hide AdThe Scottish Joint National Triples will be held this weekend. Cumbernauld will host one of the four venues chosen to hold the ties.
At Cumbernauld – Four preliminary ties, ladies will commence at 9.30 a.m. followed by first round at 2 p.m., on Saturday. Sunday ties, ladies and gents – commence at 9.30 a.m. and quarter finals at 2 p.m. Cumbernauld ladies play Nithsdale at Prestwick IBC and the gents play Galleon at Auchinleck IBC. Both ties on Saturday at 9.30 a.m. If successful – first round at 2 p.m.
In the second round of the Scottish team championship, Cumbernauld defeated local rivals Coatbridge at Whiteinch Indoor Bowling Club on Sunday on shots difference (four points all, 74 shots-68).
