Giffnock North athletes on podium at Age Group Championships

Giffnock North were celebrating 11 gold medals at the recent age-group championships in Grangemouth.Taking gold for the Braidbar club were Alyson Bell (u-13 100m) Sarah Euston (u-17 800m) Reuben Nairne (u-13 75m hurdles) Erin Wallace (u17 1500m) Iona Menzies (u17 300m hurdles) Alessandro Schieni (u17 long jump) Fraser Lipp (u13 javelin) Jenna Wrisberg (u20 100m; u20 200m) Rochele Moukala (u15 300m) Rachel Alexander (u20 long jump).The club also had four silver medals for Chris Stewart, Megan Busby, Chris Mackay and Fraser O’Rourke, as well as seven bronze medals at the championships.Almost 2500 competitors took part in the event which was contested on the re-laid track from Hampden Park’s 2014 Commonwealth Games.
