Palacerigg ladies win annual trophy

The third annual Bryson Cup competition was played at Palacerigg Golf Club recently with Palacerigg Ladies playing Dullatur Ladies in a Ryder Cup style competition.

The trophy is named in honour of one of late Palacerigg member Nancy Bryson, who was a friend to all at Dullatur as well as Palacerigg and the event took place over two days.

On day one seven greensome games were played and the home team were able to capitalise on home advantage to take the lead by six games to one.

On day two 16 singles matches were played with Palacerigg needing sixc and a half points to win the trophy. and in the end victory went to Palacerigg by 15½ to 7½.

The club was delighted to welcome Nancy’s family to the after match dinner and to invite them to present the trophy to the winning team captain.

Congratulations go to team captains Elaine Provan (Palacerigg) and Rita McLaughlin (Dullatur) who organised the event and ensured an enjoyable experience for all ladies taking part.
