Summer strokeplay tees off

Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club’s two-round Summer Strokeplay kicked off on Wednesday, August 30 and Tony Armour has set himself up nicely for his first ever trophy with his opening round of net 65.

His nearest challenger seven shots adrift, Tony will be eagerly looking forward to the final round on Wednesday, August 5.

Darren Conway blew the field away in the August Medal on Saturday, August 2 with a fabulous gross score of 69 as he won both scratch and handicap medals.

David Mackay took the honours in the second class with a net 71.

In the third class category Alan Summers beat David Summers on a countback to win his first medal – they both had a net 73.

Congratulations to the A Team for qualifying for the finals of this season’s District League event.

Their place in the play-offs was achieved after a fine home victory over Stirling Golf Club on Sunday, August 2.
