Carluke High School pupil Graeme (15), a three-handicapper, has had an astonishing 2014 in which he’s also won the Carluke GC Junior title and represented Scotland under-16s.

His dad David reckons that stardom could beckon if the youngster continues to progress through the ranks.

“Although Graeme is only 15 he’s been playing golf for 13 years,” David said.

“We’ve got old video clips of him chipping when he’s only two or three years old and you can see that he has great hand-eye co-ordination. It has taken him 13 years to get the double at Carluke so where will the next 13 years take us?

“I don’t think it is unrealistic to think that Graeme could be winning professional tournaments by the time he’s 28.

“We are already getting inquries from agencies keen to support his undoubted talent and hopefully this can lead to him getting a scholarship in America within the next couple of years.”
