Currie (19), signed on an 18-month deal from senior outfit Clyde the previous day, netted just three minutes after coming on to put ’Gow 2-1 ahead after 48 minutes and set for three points which put them second in the Central Division 1 table and on course for promotion.

Robert said: “It was not a bad impact for Jack to score three minutes and 56 seconds into his debut.

“He is up and running right away and will be a very important player for us in this division.

“Jack can score goals and he’s strong and quick.

“He’s one of at least four players at this club who could get a move into the senior ranks if they keep performing at a high level for Lesmahagow.

“If any of our players have a chance to go senior, I will shake their hand and say: ‘Away you go’.”
