In the shield competition Dalziel High school defeated Cathkin High School meaning two out of the three trophies played for on the night were won by North Lanarkshire School teams.

With valuable support from Morgan Sindall, a leading UK construction and regeneration group who have kindly sponsored the tournament for the last four years, the tournament continues to grow, with over 350 S1/2 boys playing in the Lanarkshire Schools Cup, Shield and Bowl Competitions from both North and South Lanarkshire.

Ali McCall, rugby development officer from North Lanarkshire Council, commented: “Morgan Sindall have added greatly to this local schools competition which continues to grow from year to year. Can I take this opportunity to thank Scott Wilson and the staff of Morgan Sindall for their kind support of this tournament over the years. The tournament continues to grow and congratulations to both Cumbernauld and St. Maurice’s High School in their success this season.

Thanks also must go to the teachers and coaches of their respective schools for all their hard work throughout the season.”
