Hosts Forfar will meet a City team on a high after league cup win

It won’t be a walk in the Station park for City, says coach Jennow but, with a leaague cup win in the bag this week, the mental game may already be won.

After picking up the first silverware of the season in the midweek league cup final triumph over Hibernian, Glasgow City are back in SWPL action this Sunday as they take on Forfar at Station Park.

It was an important victory for the cup holders against Hibernian and first team coach Donald Jennow expects a similar level of performance against their Angus opponents in the league as he prepares to take charge of the team this weekend.

He said, “After a very resilient performance to secure the SWPL League Cup on Wednesday, we return to League duty. We travel to Forfar with the aim of maintaining our position at the top of the table.

“Wednesday night showed the character of our squad and how much every player is willing to put in to the game. We got stronger and stronger as the game went on and our aim is to do exactly the same throughout the season.

“I expect a compact and disciplined performance from Forfar and we will have to play well if we hope to take the three points we need. We are fortunate to be coming into this game on a high and I will be looking for the players to carry that momentum into Sunday’s game.”

Glasgow City take on Forfar Farmington this Sunday at Station Park, Forfar FC, with kick off 2pm. Entry is £4 adults and U16’s go free.
