Jetskier Jason Young’s British Championship defence

KIRKMUIRHILL jetski ace Jason Young made waves in round one of the British Championship, as he began his bid for a third consecutive overall title.

Jason (23) finished second behind rival Simon Gill in all three races at Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire.

His dad Will said it had been a steady start to the championship earlier this month, but added with caution: “Jason was slightly disappointed that Gill beat him in all three races.

“But there is a long season ahead for him to close the gap.”

Jason’s next chance to accumulate British Championship points will come at the next round in Preston on May 10 and 11. He earned 53 points in each of the races at Tattershall.
