Lesmahagow loan signing revels in parent club Annan’s win at Rangers

NEW Lesmahagow Juniors loan signing Connor Jamieson scored against Shotts during a dream league cup debut – and his day got even better later upon hearing that his parent club Annan Athletic had sensationally won 2-1 at Ibrox.

Connor (18), of Carluke, on loan to ’Gow from Annan until the end of the season, heard about the outstanding Ibrox victory on his car radio and could scarcely believe that the 16/1 underdogs had triumphed.

“Before the game the Annan lads thought that if they got any sort of positive result it would be a bonus,” Connor said.

“Playing at Ibrox was a once in a lifetime opportunity and to win was terrific.

“Our players held their shape well and every man played their hardest.

“The Annan players celebrated by sinking a few beers with their families after the game and they are still buzzing about achieving such a great result.”
