Lanark united also missed the chance to move further up the table when Ryan Docherty blasted a penalty over the bar with five minutes remaining in the 1-1 draw against Dunipace.

And Forth manager Jamie McKenzie is still searching for his first win since returning to the club as manager as his side 2-2 with Johnstone Burgh.

There was also heartbreak for Biggar Rugby players as they were edged out 17-16 by Marr despite leading for almost all of the match.
