‘lok hurls curve ball

Pollok advanced to the next round of the West of Scotland cup after a 3-1 win over the much-fancied Hurlford United at Newlandsfield Park

The ‘Lok broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute. A game of head tennis in the Hurlford area saw the ball cleared as far as Dean Richardson, his right-foot volley creeping home under the dive of Ally Brown.

The second goal of the afternoon came in the 52nd minute and it went the way of Pollok. The final goal of the afternoon came in the 69th minute when McCann unleashed a first time chip that seemed to defy the laws of physics as it sailed over Brown’s head and dropped into the net.
