‘Lok see off rossvale

Pollok and Rossvale lined up against each other for the first time in competition at a blustery New Petershill Park, with the ‘Lok advancing into the second round of the Central League Cup with a 2-0 victory, writes Ross MacDonald.

It took until the 71st minute before the deadlock was finally broken when a ball into the channel allowed ‘Lok substitute Allan MacKenzie to hook in a cross that found the head of Davie Winters. Pollok wrapped the game up in the last minute of normal time as Kieran McAleenan and John Sweeney teed up to fire a low shot past Rossvale goalkeeper Jordan Bowskill.

This Saturday Pollok are on League business when they travel down to play Largs Thistle. Kick off at Barrfields Stadium is 2pm.
