The homesters got off to a blistering start, Jamie Darroch rising highest at the back post from Tam Hanlon’s corner to head the ‘Lok into a third minute lead.

The advantage was doubled in the tenth minute after harassment from John Sweeney forced the Neilston rearguard into a mistake, which allowed the midfielder to slide in and pick out Allan MacKenzie for a tap-in.

Pollok were reduced to 10 men in the 34th minute when MacKenzie’s tackle on McGhee was deemed worthy of a red card by arbiter Mark Ainslie. Hesitant ‘Lok defending gave James Canning time and space to fire a beauty into the top corner.

Parity was restored in the 55th minute after Canning fired a free-kick through the ‘Lok defensive wall and into the corner of the net.

The Pollok ranks were depleted further in the 83rd minute, Derek Kennedy breached the home rearguard to be through one-on-one with Harkness who impeded the striker, leaving Ainslie with little option but to produce another red card.

Sweeney donned the gloves for the remainder, but there was no further scoring.

This Saturday ‘Lok make the trip to Rutherglen Glencairn’s . Kick off is at 2pm.
