Netherlee Brownies pack a punch
Boxing coach Archie Durie may not be scared of a fight — but facing 30 Brownie Guides was a whole new challenge.
The 3rd Netherlee Brownies visited Durie’s Amateur Boxing Club to help Archie and female boxer Cassidy Todd dispel the myth that it’s for men only.
Brownie leader Jane Cowan said: “I met Archie when we were promoting the Commonwealth Games activities at my work. I’d never thought about boxing being for women but he invited me to his gym and I haven’t looked back.
“I wanted to show the Brownies how they too can take part in sports they wouldn’t normally consider.”
