Last week the fishing was, like most other Scottish fisheries, tricky due to the very hot weather conditions but again those who persevered were rewarded with a trout or two.

On the fly front Bruce from Glasgow had the best fish of the week at 4lbs, Robert Park of Lennoxtown two for 3lbs 4oz, William Smith from Stirling two for 4lbs 8oz and Gavin Has from Cumbernauld had two on catch and release.

The best flies last week were the Ally McCoist, Buzzers, Black Spider, Yellow Dancer, Damsel Nymph and the Cat’s Whisker.

The bait fishers doing best included Pat Hart from Bishopbriggs with one for 3lbs, Andy Meldrum from Kirkintilloch five for 14lbs, Colin Zandbergen from Falkirk one at 3lbs 8oz and Mr Sherlens from Springburn had one weighing 2lbs 5oz.
