Overton Farm set to host more Point-to-Point racing

AN event established as the best attended sports fixture in Clydesdale is coming back to Crossford’s Overton Farm this Saturday, March 23.

Large crowds are once again expected to flock to the 10th annual spring point-to-point meeting – featuring steeplechase contests and two pony races.

“This will be the 10th year of this event and if it is a good day I think there could be 4000 people in attendance,” said organiser Willie Young.

“I think we get such good crowds every year because people realise that we work hard to make this event as good as it can be.

“They enjoy the fact that we have a hospitality tent, live commentary, bar and catering facilities and a betting ring with over 20 bookies.”

Willie is confident that the horses and jockeys taking part at Overton will be of a high standard.
