At the Glencairn Gardens courts in Pollokshields Brown overcame left hander Brodie Knight 6-1, 6-0 while the women’s finale was a far more hotly contested affair, Rosa McMillan losing the first set 4-6 to Wendy Rankine before emerging victorious by winning the second set 6-3 and the third on a tie-break.

Stuart Roberts scored a double by winning the veteran men’s singles and joining Nathan Coley to take the veteran men’s doubles title.

In the boys’ under-18 event Alexander Hendry beat Alex Gajic 6-1, 7-6, and in the girls’ under-18 Claire McKaig overcame Fiona Henderson 6-2, 6-2.
