Head coach Gus MacPherson recognised that the unfamiliar line-up affected the performance but he was expecting more from the game.

MacPherson said: “It was a bit of a shadow squad due to holidays and injuries but we never moved the ball quickly enough. More concerning was the goals that we lost.”

Ross McKinnon sent a 20-yard drive past a trialist goalie to put Broomhill in front 10 minutes from the break but sub Sean Burns levelled before half-time from a free kick.

The head coach said: “Players are playing for positions just now. They should be looking to catch the eye as that is what these games are for.”
