The Curtis Bros Fitness Studio backed driver, who competed for three years in the Junior 1000 Rally Championship, recently launched his Scottish Rally Championship campaign by winning his class at the Border Counties Rally in Jedburgh.

Driving a Citroen C2 supplied by Andrew Pemberton, Andy was delighted to excel in a competitive forest rally.

He said: “I love driving. The J1000 Championship was my first experience of competitive rallying and I hope the next stage of my driving career will be a long journey.

“I am overwhelmed to have been chosen for the scholarship and I cannot thank Andrew enough for letting me borrow his car.”

This is the first year the Citroen C2 class has been introduced to the Scottish Rally Championship, allowing Junior 1000 drivers to have something to step up to after competing in single venues until they are 17.

Andy learned more about the opportunities available when speaking to committee members at a recent open night.

He continued: “Already from my first meeting with the committee at the C2 open evening, I am aware of how much I am going to benefit from the vast wealth of experience that is surrounding me.”
