Rally ace Linzi Henderson is leading lady in series

DESPITE having a much less powerful car than some rivals, Carnwath sensation Linzi Henderson is leading lady driver in a top rally series.

Peugeot 107 driver Linzi (17), of Carlindean Farm, has the smallest car in her field yet is lying ninth overall and second in her class in the 2013 Scottish Tarmac Rally Championship.

“Linzi is holding her own in the championship so I’m really pleased,” said her proud mum Sandra.

“She’s doing really well as she has a wee 1000cc car when competing against people with 1400cc or 1600cc vehicles.

“To put it politely, Linzi has been ringing the car’s neck but still gets it up to speeds of between 70mph and 90mph on the straights!

“I’m very hopeful that by the end of the season she’ll be the top lady driver.”
