The former Shotts Bon Accord gaffer had the worst possible start to his reign — as Lok conceded after just 45 seconds.

The Newlandsfield side fell 2-1 to Irvine Meadow, but McInally hopes with another week under his belt he can turn Lok’s fortunes around in time for the visit to 
Kilbirnie.

The manager, who won four league titles, a league cup and a Scottish cup during his six-year stint at Shotts, told ExtraSport: “We have been assessing the players to work out what needs to be done in the transfer market.

“Five players left last month. I have made lots of enquiries about transfers, we are just waiting for answers.

“We need to add quality. It is always a difficult task to bring in players mid season, it costs money and the club does not have a lot of that.”

McInally, who is making his return to management following a lengthy ban imposed by the SJFA after a post-match fracas, aims to add some stability to the club.

“This season has been turbulent for the players. They have underachieved but it’s easy to see why. My aim is to keep the club in the division, I also want to take the team as far as possible in the cups.

“A decent cup run would instill some much needed confidence.”
