Both sides required points from the final fixture of the season to avoid relegation but it was the much improved home side who achieved the objective with a 32-7 success which relegated Lenzie by one point after a long and hard league campaign.

Garnock deserved their win although the score flattered the home side as Lenzie contributed much to this game with captain Danny Scouller, Michael Slade, Gav Brett, Chris Patterson and Ross Moir putting in strong performances.

Lenzie regrouped and despite playing into the wind they won the second half and were unlucky not go add to Alan Picken’s excellent converted try.

Lenzie have already started planning for next season on the coaching and playing side to achieve promotion next season.

Garnock nominated Scouller as man of the match.
