Self-defence advice for Carluke students

STUDENTS from Carluke’s Scotia TKD were at the sharp end of great advice – as they learned how to defend them-selves against knife attacks.

The tips came from Master Instructor Mark Davies, who has travelled the world training in martial arts for the past 30 years, during sessions at the Blackburn Leisure Centre in West Lothian.

Scotia TKD press officer Fiona Trainer sakd: “Mark used to work as a bouncer so he came up against knives quite a lot. He told us that, if you suspect someone is behind you with a knife, the best thing to do is fish for something in your pocket to throw in their face and distract them.”
