Southside chefs bowled over at the Games

Best of luck to Chico Mohammed and Ali Shan Muzahir, who are stepping up to compete in the Commonwealth Games, bowling for the Pakistan team.

Chico, of Clarkston, and Ali Shan, of Netherlee, own southside restaurant Alishan on Battlefield Road — but it’s Kelvingrove, rather than Hampden, that the duo will be travelling to during Glasgow 2014, to compete alongside teammates who have flown over from Pakistan.

The competitors are pictured with batonbearers Joe Mailley and Carolyn McKinnon as the relay arrived at Stamperland Bowling Club last week.
