Special Meaning is this year’s Lanark Silver Bell winner

The Ladbrokes Lanark Silver Bell race was just one of several races which saw favourites romp home to victory – leaving punters with cash in their pockets and bookies licking their wounds after a tough night.

It was 7/4 favourite Special Meaning, ridden by Franny Norton, who triumphed in the Silver Bell race itself.

The horse had won four out of its last five races and he continued his winning ways by beating stablemate Nimiety into second place. The Silver Bell race was the second of three victories for trainer Mark Johnston.
