Spiders showing signs of improvement

QUEEN’S Park hope to build on a draw last weekend during a visit Berwick Rangers.

On Saturday, the southsiders visit Shielfield Park (KO 3pm) after a 0-0 draw against East Stirlingshire last weekend.

The draw was a major blow to East Stirlingshire’s promotion hopes, however Pollok remains ten points adrift at the bottom of the table.

Last time the Spiders faced Berwick, on December 21, they suffered a 4-0 defeat.

New boss Gus MacPherson is continuing to assess the side he has at his disposal.

He said: “We want to win as many games as possible, starting from now.

“However, it’s vitally important that we start planning for next season and making sure we get that off to the right start.

“It’s a balancing act between winning games to boost confidence and taking stock of all the players at our disposal to see where we most need to strengthen for next term.

”I’ve been struck by the spirit of the players. That can only get better if we get positive results.”
