Spirit of Sochi spreads to Glasgow

Glasgow Ski Club were named top UK ski club at the Alpine Championships in Bormio in Italy.

The squad collected a staggering 16 bronze, silver and gold medals.

The club is based at the Bellahouston Park Ski and Snowboard Centre.

Head coach Mark Vinter told The Extra: “They put in a magnificent effort.

“Myself and the other three club coaches are so proud of their efforts.”

Southside sisters Erin (8) and Isla (9) Ward managed to come first and second respectively in the mini races.
