Star turn from ‘Lok

Pollok continued their pre-season campaign with a late winner securing a 2-1 against East Region cracks Newtongrange Star at Newlandsfield.

The ‘Lok were dealt a blow midway through the first half when new signing Mark Sideserf was forced off with an injury, Gary Wild coming on to replace him.

It was the visitors who took the lead in the 32nd minute, the home rearguard failing to pick up Nitten’s Matti King in the box, allowing him space to head Lee Currie’s corner past Ryan Ward in the ‘Lok goal, and give the Star a deserved half-time lead.
