Talented Tom Leighton part of Children’s Games squad
TALENTED Carluke footballer Tom Leighton is heading Down Under, having been selected to be part of this year’s International Children’s Games in Australia.
Fourteen-year-old Tom, part of the elite school of football at Braidhurst High School, will be flying out later this week for the Games which are being held in Lake Macquarie, in New South Wales from December 6 to 11.
Tom is the youngest to be selected as part of the Lanarkshire team with the rest of the eight-man squad all being 15 and made up from different pro youth clubs in Scotland.
Lanarkshire will be competiting in six-a-side matches against teams from across the globe.
