Tom Scott Road Race returns to Carluke

THE historic Tom Scott 10-mile Road Race on Sunday, April 13 is to be run solely on Carluke roads for the first time in its 52-year history.

Strathclyde Park is being ditched as race venue as it prepares to stage the triathlon event at this summer’s Commonwealth Games.

“Running connoisseurs will enjoy the fact that the race is back on the open road,” said race organiser Robert Benyon. “We’re having it in Carluke because Strathclyde Park will be inaccessible throughout March and April.

“Strathclyde Park is flat, but our course is a testing, undulating one. So it will be interesting to see what kind of reaction we get from the runners. I’m sure the purists will love it!”
