Top marks for Cumbernauld 10K

This year’s Cumbernauld 10K will take place on Sunday, September 20 at Broadwood Stadium.

With shorter distances available for younger entrants (1K, 3K and the Victory Walk), as well as lots of free entertainment, this is a true family event.

The event is organised by North Lanarkshire Council and North Lanarkshire Leisure with the support of NHS Lanarkshire, Campsies Centres Cumbernauld, Strathmore Spring Water and the Cumbernauld News and Kilsyth Chronicle.

Going by the feedback received in a survey following last year’s event, this is greatly enjoyed by participants.

Lynsey Ronald from Paisley was one of those to win a gift voucher from Run4It and free entry to the 2015 race.

Lynsey said: “The activities available for children on the day were great. It was good to know on my run round that my son was taking part in some kids’ event and also getting into the spirit of the day. I’m really looking forward to the next event.”

Another prizewinner in the survey was Mark Alexander, who said: “The Cumbernauld 10K is a well organised race on a fast flowing personal best course, with the added benefit of activities for children before, during and after the race.”
