The homesters got off to the best possible start with a goal in the fourth minute.

Kevin Bradley’s mazy right wing dribble saw him play the ball through to Finlay Frye on the bye-line, the diminutive midfielder’s cross finding the head of John Sweeney who gratefully nodded past Ally McInnes.

The ‘Lok doubled their lead in the 31st minute when Tam Hanlon sent a deep cross to the back post which Kieran McAleenan headed home to double the advantage.

Pollok’s third goal arrived in somewhat confusing circumstances after Davie Winters’ cross set up Sweeney whose shot appeared to hit the post, before his second effort was cleared off the line. Referee Steven Reid saw otherwise though, awarding Pollok a penalty and sending off Vics’ substitute Sean Ewart, presumably for a handball on the goal line.

Winters made no mistake with the spot kick, sending McInnes the wrong way.

The afternoon’s scoring was completed in the 88th minute after some good passing play among the ‘Lok midfield gave substitute Marco Andreoni the opportunity to tee up McAleenan, who scored his second of the game with a driven effort into the corner.
