Grado (29), hilariously wrestled with then Hibernian striker Cummings last April at the Edinburgh club’s training ground, with the mock up contest – featuring Cummings strolling out to Grado’s traditional walk on song, Like A Prayer by Madonna – famously attracting thousands of hits on You Tube.

“I was a big influence on Jason signing for Rangers,” said Light Blues fan Grado, of Ayrshire.

“I said to him that, when the January transfer window opened, he had to go to Rangers or I would be putting him through a table!

“So he never said ‘No’.

“I was delighted on the day he joined Rangers, which he said he’d done because I threatened him!

“I really hope he stays permanently now. Right now he is on the bench because the team is playing so well.

“But I think if Alfredo Morelos (Rangers striker who is a signing target for a Chinese club) goes at the end of the season then Jason would be a good replacement.

“He is a good player in the team and a great character in football, one of very few in the modern era.

“I would love him to stay at Ibrox so hopefully he will get a new contract.”

Motherwell wrestling fans will get the chance to see Grado, the sport’s Clown Prince, in action against a much bigger, stronger opponent in the town’s Concert Hall this Saturday, March 31. The Scots ace will take on former WWE superstar Ryback (36), of Las Vegas, in an exciting Scottish Wrestling Alliance contest.

“I said to the promoter that I wanted Ryback,” Grado added.

“A lot of times when ex-WWE guys come over to the UK they are paired up against high end guys, really good wrestlers.

“But there will be really good action at this fight.

“Ryback has fought all the best, like John Cena and Chris Jericho, but he has never wrestled a guy from the top end of Stevenston so he is going to get a big shock!

“I think the Scottish fans will be right behind me in Motherwell, so the atmosphere will be very good and I think that will put Ryback off!

“I’ve also got a good right hand jab. But hopefully the fight won’t go over 10 minutes or I’ll get out of breath!”

Grado, real name Graeme Stevely, is also going to pay his own unique tribute to Ryback’s catchphrase ‘Feed Me More’ in Motherwell.

The star, who recently grappled with wrestling stars Ron Van Dam and Rey Mysterio at a show in Plymouth, added: “I’m going to say ‘Feed Me Less’ as I go into the ring because I eat too much and I really need to get into shape!

“The stuff I’ve eaten today includes two boxes of cereals, a roll and cold meat and a packet of Cadbury’s Mini Eggs.

“I did pantomime for a while which meant I was running about for eight weeks, but now I’m slowly putting the weight back on.

“But at least I’ll be eating a Slimming World dinner later, courtesy of my girlfriend Kerry.”
