Football fans have been given the chance to buy their own slice of soccer failure.

A collection of portraits of every single manager sacked in Scotland and England this season, including Ian Baraclough at Motherwell, has gone on auction.

Aberdeenshire artist Fraser Macdonald’s Sacked Portraits project captured the last moments of bosses on their way out at clubs across the UK.

Now he is to hold an exhibition at Huntly FC’s Christie Park, while the originals have gone on sale in an online auction.

Fraser set out last August to paint a portrait of every single manager given the boot by the 134 senior clubs north and south of the border.

He said: “It is an art project first and foremost – but it is also the aim to get people who are into football looking at art.

“I’ve been wanting to do it for years, it is for a laugh but also to open the door to art for football fans.

“I did two or three then started a Twitter account and it has all just snowballed from there.

“It is a sort of celebration of failure.

The auction runs until midnight on May 29 at Jumblebee
