Much-loved Glasgow band Texas announce massive homecoming gig and the re-release of hit album White On Blonde

Texas will play a huge gig in Glasgow next year as part of their 30th anniversary arena tour.

The news comes as the band announced the re-release their album White On Blonde, which was released in 1997, and became their first record to top the UK charts.

Fellow Glasgow outfit Del Amitri have been confirmed as special guests on the UK and Ireland dates, with pre-sale beginning at 10am on Wednesday, October 28.

They will also play shows in Newcastle, Belfast, Dublin, Leeds, Cardiff, Brighton, London, Manchester and Birmingham.

White On Blonde will have its anniversary release on February 5, 2027, and will feature a new single, Another Way To Cry, which is out now.

Speaking about the release of White On Blonde 30 years ago, Spiteri said: “It didn’t feel risky because no-one at our label gave a shit.

“We were in Glasgow, we made the album in my house and I did all the vocals in the coat cupboard.

“We had nothing to lose, and anyway, I didn’t want to fit in.

“If everybody’s doing something, I’m always running in the opposite direction and that’s always been the attitude – whether it’s walking on stage at Glastonbury, or with White On Blonde.

“It’s always been us saying: We will play our own tune. If you want to jump on, great. If you hate us, fine. But this is what we want to do.”

Tickets for the 30th anniversary arena tour go on general sale October 30. More information is here.
