Summer Nights at the Bandstand has returned to Kelvingrove Park for the ninth year with plenty of huge acts taking to the stage in the West End of the city.
Legends of the music industry have graced the stage at Kelvingrove Bandstand over the past decade and we think that these are some of the most memorable performances at the venue which have been organised by Regular Music.
From some of the most famous singer-songwriters of all time to bands that we absolutely love, here are our favourite bandstand gigs.

9. Johnny Marr
One of the most recent memorable performances to take place at the bandstand was Johnny Marr's recent sold out gig in July 2024. Speaking about the gig, our review said: "Dave Ross who has worked almost 100 gigs at the bandstand commented on how special a gig it was saying: “Popped out the car during This Charming Man - literally everyone on Kelvin Way was singing along. Nearly 100 gigs and never seen that before” as he also commented on the fact that even dog walkers were lyric perfect as they made their way into the park." Photo: David Jackson

10. Van Morrison
Legendary singer-songwriter Van Morrison has appeared at Kelvingrove Bandstand on two occasions. The first appearance in 2018 is more memorable as The Scotsman wrote: "A closing run of Jackie Wilson Said, Brown-Eyed Girl and a rocked-out and raucous extended Gloria made it impossible to deny Morrison’s brilliance as an artist." 11. The Jesus and Mary Chain
The Jesus and Mary Chain have only made one appearance at the bandstand which came back in August in 2022. Writing about the gig, The Scotsman wrote in their review: "A career-spanning set hit the heights with the fuzzy magnificence of April Skies and the menacingly motoring Snakedriver, before landing a pair of emotional sucker punches with the dolorously anthemic Darklands and the epochal Ronettes-on-downers narco-dreaminess of Just Like Honey." 12. Edwyn Collins
Former Orange Juice frontman Edwyn Collins made his most recent appearance in Glasgow at Kelvingrove Bandstand on 13 August 2022. The gig was arguably a double headliner as the support act was none other than Altered Images which was a nod to the famous 1981 NME cover as the pair appeared as the 'New Flowers of Scotland'.
