Food hygiene ratings handed to seven South Lanarkshire establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to seven of South Lanarkshire’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Pass: Station House Nursery at 53 Greenlees Road, Cambuslang, Glasgow; rated on October 24

• Pass: Taj Mahal at 101 High Street, Biggar, South Lanarkshire; rated on October 10

• Pass: Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Training Centre - Uaill Centre, Westburn Drive, Cambuslang, Glasgow; rated on September 14

• Pass: Little People at 29[C] High Street, Lanark; rated on July 26

• Improvement Required: The Cedarwood Bistro at 43 Newfield Place, Rutherglen, Glasgow; rated on September 27

Takeaways

And two ratings have been handed to takeaways:
