5. Shallow Grave
Another film on the list which is set in Edinburgh but filmed in Glasgow. It could be said that the success of Shallow Grave led to the production of Trainspotting two years later. It gets a rating of 7.3 off IMDb.
6. Trainspotting 2
Glasgow once again featured in the sequel of Trainspotting with scenes being filmed in Pollokshields, Finnieston and the University of Glasgow amongst others. It comes in with a rating of 7.2.
7. The Wife
Scenes for The Wife which was released in 2017 were shot in the historic building Hutchesons Hall in Glasgow’s Merchant City. It’s tied alongside Trainspotting 2 on 7.2 from reviewers.
8. World War Z
Glasgow stood in for Philadelphia during the opening zombie attack in the 2013 film World War Z - with Brad Pitt’s character Gerry Lane and family stuck in traffic on Cochrane Street.
