Cumbernauld youngster to star in Whistle Down the Wind

A YOUNG actor is set to tred the boards of the Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow next month after landing a role in the Andrew Lloyd Webber hit musical Whistle Down the Wind.

A YOUNG actor is set to tred the boards of the Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow next month after landing a role in the Andrew Lloyd Webber hit musical Whistle Down the Wind.

Ethan Kerr (9), from Annathill, will play one of the three children who think the man hiding in their barn is Jesus Christ when he is really an escaped convict in the production by Glasgow based Runway Theatre Company between September 12 and 15.

Based on the 1961 film starring Hayley Mills and Alan Bates, the musical version has been relocated to Louisiana, USA at Christmas time, 1959, and features a combination of rock style numbers and ballads including the Boyzone hit No Matter What.

St Helen’s Primary School pupil Ethan is no stranger to the stage having previously appeared in Oliver, South Pacific, and Jesus Christ Superstar to name a few.
