70 years of wedded bliss for James and Cathy Ferguson, of Lesmahagow

IN an age when marriage break-ups are 10-a-penny, the Gazette is delighted to report the continued wedded bliss of a couple who tied the knot a whopping 70 years ago!

James and Cathy Ferguson, who are both 96, celebrated their Platinum Wedding at a party with fellow residents and staff at Lesmahagow’s Auchlochan Care Home.

They received a congratulatory card from The Queen, a bottle of Provost Whisky in a velvet pouch, a commemorative plaque from South Lanarkshire Council, silver photo frame and three floral bouquets.
