Carluke landowners are now the unexpected owners of over 33 acres of moorland, at Black Law, in the middle of the windfarm.

After three years of legal work behind the scenes, Carluke Development Trust heard last week that its bid to reclaim the land had been successful.

“We are very pleased,” said chairman Tom Sneddon.

“We set out to try to capture that for the benefit of the town and we now need to think what we do with the 33.6 acres.”

Black Law Wind Farm was built around the commonty because Scottish Power could not trace the owner and, initially, the Development Trust was considering having a turbine there.
