Carluke’s business BID gets off to a “flying start”

MEMBERS of Carluke’s Business Improvement District (BID) have been busy over the winter months working on a string of new ideas for the town centre.

An interim board has been established with South Lanarkshire Provost Eileen Logan, Joey Adam from Carluke Development Trust and the Rural Development Trust’s Gordon Muir joining a number of the town’s business owners and representatives.

And the BID team can claim its first victory with a reduction in energy and insurance bills for many local firms.

Martin Hannah, chairman of the interim Carluke BID Board, said: “The main early priority project was to save BID organisations money and we are off to a flying start.”
