Concerns at human sewage sludge at Glentaggart

REPRESENTATIVES of Douglas Community Council went to the Scottish Parliament to raise their concerns about the spreading of human sewage sludge at Glentaggart.

South Scotland MSP, Claudia Beamish, supported the community council to arrange a meeting with Scottish Government officials and representatives from SEPA and Scottish Water to feed into the national review on the use of sewage sludge.

At the meeting, a range of issues were discussed, including concerns about the smell, the health and safety implications and how sewage spreading activity was monitored.
