Coalfields Trust £6000 to ‘re-plant’ Forth polytunnel
Also moving on from the site, off the village Main Street, is the adjoining Forth and District Initiative’s community polytunnel, a hugely popular feature with the pupils.
It is moving to a new site, in nearby Hailstonegreen – just a few minutes walk from the school, being rebuilt on a site adjacent to its current one.

Hide AdSouth Scotland MSP Claudia Beamish visited the site to present Ann Anderson, Secretary of Forth and District Initiative, with a £6000 cheque from the Coalfields Regeneration Trust.
Said Ann: “We are currently working on the drainage at our new site but hope to be up and running in time for the spring planting.
“We are really grateful to the Coalfields Regeneration Trust for funding a thermal cover, which will make a huge difference to germination and growing times within the tunnel.”
Former and exisiting Forth Primary School pupils bade a fond farewell to their old school last weekend – see separate story on this website.
