The East End pub retains much of its traditional interior, including a largely complete 19th-century island bar. Its jug bar — also known as the family department — remains in place and was used for off-sales.

Other surviving features noted by historians include glazed and timber partitions, original snugs and the central gantry.

An old bell box also offers evidence that customers were once served at their tables.

The Railway Tavern is a category B listed building.

The business can also be purchased as part of a package with Carsons in Coatbridge. The full listing is available here.
