The idea behind the beer festival is to showcase good quality beers in Milngavie and at the same time to promote the local area.

The festival will not only offer beer, there will also be food stalls and musical entertainment.

The plan is to have a beer tent along with a few marquees in Milngavie town centre precinct and designated areas where beer drinkers will be able to relax with their friends.

The event will be organised in collaboration with other local businesses including Jaw Brew and Garvie & Co.

It will provide an opportunity to taste over 30 unique craft beers and ciders.

BID Co-ordinator Ania Surma, said: “We are also liaising with local bars and restaurants in order to encourage them to stock additional new beers.

“This is a very exciting project for us and we believe that it could become an annual event for Milngavie bringing hundreds of new visitors to the village.”

The event is taking place between 12pm and 8pm.

Tickets will be soon available online as well as in local bars. A specially designed “Milngavie’s Beer Festival Programme” will also be available to the public. The programme will include a list of all beers and breweries taking part in this year’s event along with tasting notes of all beers.
