MP seeks job assurances
MP Gregg McClymont has welcomed glassmaker Pilkingtons’ assurances that there is no threat to their Cumbernauld factory.
Gregg sought assurances from the company about the future of the Cumbernauld plant, which employees 90 people, after Pilkington announced it is to close its factory in St Helens, Lancashire.
A spokesman said: “I can confirm that the mothballing of one of our float lines in the UK will not affect our fantastic Cumbernauld site.”
