Swap shop helps Haiti

A CUMBERNAULD charity is holding a swap shop this Friday to raise funds for a Haiti earthquake appeal.

All women in Cumbernauld are invited to the Town Hall for the event, which is being organised by Andrena McKune on behalf of the Take Heart For Haiti project.

Andrena will be working along side other members of the project, including local woman Fiona Kenny, to help raise 250,000 Dollars to build a new hospital wing in La Ganove.

Recently we reported how Fiona had travelled to the Haiti to help with the relief effort and the swap shop is another project which the florist, who works in Graceful Flowers in the Town Centre, is involved with.

Fiona said: “The idea was all Andrena’s and it is a great way for people to get involved in helping the project.

“All women of Cumbernauld and beyond are welcome to bring along clothes and shoes that are in good clean condition and swap them for something else.

“The suggested entry donation is £10 but that means you could get a whole new wardrobe for almost nothing. What could be better?”

She added: “I have been to a few of these parties myself and they are fab.”

The event starts at 6.30pm on Friday, July 22 at the New Town Hall.
